OnLine – Account

You can log into WEDOS OnLine using either a WEDOS customer account, or the WEDOS OnLine account described here.

In this article, you will learn:

TOTP Authentication

If you want to secure your WEDOS OnLine account with more than just a password, set up TOTP two-factor authentication. TOTP is an abbreviation for Time-based One-Time Password, i.e. a one-time password that is generated for you by a specialized program called (T)OTP keychain for the specific moment when you want to log in.

The most common way to use a mobile phone as a keychain are the following apps:

If your phone does not support mobile applications, you can use a browser extension:

WEDOS is not involved in the development of any of this software. Troubleshoot any issues with the support of the selected keychain.

Enable TOTP

If you have your TOTP device ready, follow these steps:

  1. Log into the WEDOS OnLine ⧉ administration panel.
  2. In the left menu, select  Account, Settings  Settings.
  3. Make sure your phone settings are up-to-date.
  4. In the Multi-factor authentication (TOTP) section, click the Activate TOTP button.

If the account is ready for TOTP activation, the system will print the shared key and display a QR code to quickly enter the key into the device. Enter the key in your TOTP device using any method and proceed with the setup:

  1. Check one of the options for the current device’s TOTP verification frequency (every time, every 30 days, or never).
  2. Enter the current 6-digit TOTP code to check functionality.
  3. Click the Activate TOTP button.

TOTP Settings

If you have successfully turned on two-step authentication, the Multi-factor authentication (TOTP) section contains the following:

  • Options for the TOTP verification frequency for the current device (every time, every 30 days, or never): select the option you want and confirm with the Save settings button.
  • The Change TOTP key button to display a new key and QR code. If you enter a new code and confirm the change with the change TOTP button, all devices with the original code will stop working.
  • The Deactivate TOTP button disables two-step authentication. To activate TOTP again, follow the activation instructions, including generating a new key.

Deactivating TOTP deletes all information about the original key. If you reactivate it, you will get a new key, and the devices using the old key will not work.

FAQ

What should I do if I lost my OTP device?

Contact us by email at contact@wedos.online. We will authenticate you via SMS and let you know what to do next.

Does OnLine really remember my browser forever?

Not entirely: if you browse in anonymous mode, the administration panel will request TOTP.

What if I can’t scan the TOTP QR code?

Enter the shared key (displayed above the QR code) manually.

I lost access to my email box, can I still reset my WEDOS OnLine password?

The password recovery mechanism only authenticates the user using email. Try to gain access first: try to restore a deleted mailbox, or contact your email service provider or administrator. If this does not work, contact us by email at contact@wedos.online.
